VERGE Wine Cellars:
VERGE Wine Cellars is dedicated to producing highly expressive Syrah from unique parcels and vineyards throughout the North Coast. Sourcing their fruit from vineyards on the edges of the wild, founders Jay Kell and Mike Brunson aim to spotlight fringe farmers who respect the wild ecosystems around them, and ultimately create a hub of organic and biodynamic growers who represent the forefront of sustainable viticulture. A veteran of over 15 harvests, Brunson takes a minimalist approach in the cellar. Native yeasts contribute to what he calls the Wild Stamp – which is the overall ecological footprint of the vineyard present in the wine itself. Brunson’s main goal in the cellar is to make age-worthy wines that reflect their origins and truly demonstrate what California Syrah is all about.
