Kathryn Kennedy Winery:
Kathryn Kennedy Winery is located within the small town of Saratoga, on the inland side of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The eight-acre estate vineyard, still on its own roots, was planted by Kathryn herself in 1973, and has since become legendary for producing one of California’s greatest Cabernets. Kathryn’s youngest son, Marty Mathis, is both head winemaker and vineyard manager. He is also one of the most friendly, down-to-earth people you will ever meet. Having grown up on the property, Marty holds a deep appreciation for his small parcel of land, as well as the entire surrounding Santa Cruz Mountains appellation. All winemaking operations at Kathryn Kennedy are carried out with the utmost care and consideration for the environment, and in 2007 the estate vineyard was certified organic.
